CONSERVATORY CLEANING

After spending you're hard earnings on a shiny new conservatory, many conservatory owners soon find themselves with a dull structure engrained with dirt, algae and covered in leaves , with gutters blocked with debris, and even growing weeds. Worst of all, the roof, being the most inaccessible part for cleaning, is frequently transparent allowing the green slime and dirt to be clearly seen from inside the conservatory, ruining the internal appearance of the conservatory.

Traditional window cleaners tend to concentrate on cleaning the glass for visibility in the shortest time possible, without cleaning the rest of the frame, structure and gutters. Even if they do agree to clean the roof, they might not understand the special needs of conservatory roofs or have the right access equipment, so may cause substantial damage.

The polycarbonate sheets used for the majority of conservatory roofs have a special outside coating to reduce the aging effect of UV on the polycarbonate, which would cause clouding, yellowing and brittleness.

To protect this coating the manufacturers instructions say that many traditional cleaning methods and products which may include abrasives and/or solvents, and high pressure jetting should not be used.
